I’m Scott, and I’ve been playing guitar for over 18 years, clocking up around 500 gigs along the way. Guitar has been a huge part of my life since I was 18, taking me from playing original music and recording albums to performing at weddings, corporate events, festivals and some pretty impressive venues across the UK.
I’ve done the originals thing too — spending six years building songs as a band from the ground up, recording two studio albums and playing venues including Camden Barfly, O2 Academy 3 Birmingham and the NEC.
Since 2014, I’ve been a founding member of Satellite Down, a corporate, wedding and function band that has taken me to venues including Birmingham ICC, Blenheim Palace, Cheltenham Racecourse and Clearwell Castle. I’ve also guested with other bands and provided acoustic guitar accompaniment for singers in more intimate settings.
More recently, I’ve been involved in Eversonic, a female-fronted party band project with vocalist Ioana. It’s been another opportunity to experiment with arrangements, different musicians and a modern approach to live performance.
A big part of what I enjoy about playing live is making songs work for the musicians and the occasion. I love taking an existing song, reworking the arrangement, transposing parts and finding ways to make it work — whether that’s building a big full-band moment or stripping things back for something much more intimate.
My playing has been shaped by artists including Richie Sambora, Paul Kossoff, Chris Robertson and Jaret Reddick. I love memorable guitar parts, big anthems, great melodies and songs that make people want to sing along.
After nearly two decades of playing and around 500 live performances, I’m now also looking to share some of that experience through guitar tuition. Whether you’re picking up the guitar for the first time or you’ve been playing for years, I want to help you develop your playing, understand the instrument and, most importantly, enjoy making music.
